While the current situation can seem overwhelming, talking to your kids about the risks of underage drinking shouldn’t be.
Helping your kids stay alcohol free can be as simple of being a positive role model in their life. An adolescent’s decision to drink is often influenced by their parents’ views and behaviors when it comes to alcohol. By modeling responsible alcohol use, you can set the tone on how to behave responsibly.
Being a positive role model also includes setting clear rules about alcohol use and consistently enforcing those rules. Make the right call. Make sure they know the risks and that you will be there to support them.
