FIND THE BALANCE

As kids grow older, they seek independence and look to take more risks. Some adolescents decide to take the risk of underage drinking without fully realizing all of the consequences. Help your child understand the risks of underage drinking before they try it.

Research shows that 80% of adolescents take into account their parents views on alcohol when considering whether to drink. They are more likely to listen when parents are consistent when talking about their views on underage drinking. Teens respond well to parents who provide a steady balance of discipline and support.

Talk to your child about the risks of underage drinking and make sure they know you are there to support them and help keep them balanced and alcohol free.
